The staff of the Institute of Clinical Chemistry (IKC) applies chemical, physical and biological methods for the analysis of body fluids such as blood or urine, to support the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases. The scientific work is aimed at a better understanding of the molecular basis of metabolic and cardiovascular diseases and the development of novel diagnostic tests and methods. Furthermore, the institute is committed to the education of students in medicine, natural sciences and biomedical analysis, and the provision of postgraduate training for laboratory directors.
